How can we help you: managing personal finances

About us

Howcanwehelpyou.co.za offers you useful tips, information to help you better understand and manage your personal finances.
  • We are accessible: all our articles are written in plain English and, when obliged to use banking speak, we explain those words and terms in our Jargon buster.
  • We are here to help you, and to help you share your experiences and insights with other users on our Talk to us forums.
  • We welcome independent viewpoints and you are welcome to refer to any bank or financial institution as long as you refrain from derogatory remarks. See our forum rules for more on this.
  • We will not respond to customer complaints on behalf of financial institutions. If you have a problem with a particular financial institution, please take your complaint directly to them.
  • We protect our users and will not forward your name or contact details to anyone unless specifically requested to do so by you.
  • We respect our users and expect you to respect each other in all forms of interaction.
  • We do not – and may not – offer specific personal financial advice, but rather offer broad based financial intelligence. Anyone who has urgent financial questions or concerns is encouraged to consult a FICA registered financial adviser. You will find these advisers at your financial institution.
  • We are not a debt counselling service. You will find debt counselling assistance at your financial institution or by contacting the National Debt Mediation Association (NDMA) http://www.ndma.org.za
  • We will not allow vendors who sell financial services to post items on our site without prior consultation and approval.
  • We recognise that personal finance can be a pretty dull business, but our aim is to make the learning process enjoyable, interactive and positive. So have fun!
